“May you never steal, lie or cheat. But if you have to steal, then steal away my sorrows. If you have to lie, then lie with me all the nights of our life. If you have to cheat, then cheat death because I don’t want to live a day without you”
Based on the Irish tradition wherein women propose to men on February 29 and as such, there is no way of rejecting their offer. It tells a story of a couple whose been dating for 4 years. This lady is such an eager beaver that she can't wait for her fiancee to pop the question. So, she followed him to Ireland where her destiny takes a different turn.
Excellent onscreen synergy of the main characters Anna and Declan gave excitement to this flick. Their hate-love relationship is what makes this story exciting. One thing to note is their cultural diferences which gave rise to their epic quarrels. Gradual build up of their rapport is quite believable it's as if they're a real couple. The setting is absolutely beautiful, one can't help but fall in love with the place. Fields of green, the unforgettable castle (which holds its own fairy tale), and romantic inns contributed to the art of this amorous story. I fell in love with Ireland. There was a moment where I fantasized about settling there.
The turnout of events is what captured my attention. It was an unexpected ending but nonetheless it is a desirable one.
